The Costa Brava, has a wonderful coastline. Part is still totally virgin today. The Empordà plain offers enchanting landscapes. The Girona counties have magnificent nature parks, such as Cap de Creus, Empordà or Montgrí-Illes Medes which offer a wide variety of flora and fauna.
There are also beautiful botanical gardens near the sea: the Santa Clotilde garden in Lloret de Mar, situated on a sheer drop, are an example of the 19th century movement; the Cap Roig gardens, between Palafrugell and Montras, one of the most important ones in the Mediterranean; or the Mar-i-murta botanical garden in Blanes, with 4000 different vegetal species.
